Thank you!

I am thinking about opening up a "Green" laundromat and am wondering how effective this will be as marketing strategy. I would use energy saving machines and possibly some kind of water recycling system. Do you think people would be interested?

I would say that’s a great idea – especiallly if you’re in a college town – where lots of laundry customers will be college-aged kids (who are also the demo who’d be drawn to "green" thing)

I would make sure your marketing directly hits to that demo – and don’t fall into the trap many other companies do with their advertising: trying to hit on lots of topics (ex: low price, good location, great service, etc).

Keep your marketing focused on your "green" aspect – and find creative ways of doing it. Plus, direct your marketing to places your demo audience will see it – student newspapers, flyers on campus, etc.

Right ok we know the reason to have a marketing campaign is to sell goods, products, services etc. However some marketing camapigns have more specific tactical objectves.

We are procurring some ad software for the net and reselling the ad space to customers. We have direct access to advertising customers so will sell directly, however fill in space by using google ads etc ehen space remains unsold.

To make sure we have the right platform for advertising it works to cross check against all sorts of tactical campaign requirements.

Such as:

* brand awareness,
* product awareness,
* education of benefits
* shifting stock
* selling tickets fast to an event

etc

What are the different tactical reasons for having a marketing campaign ?

Hey Life….

I did the many years of studying this and looking at that ant trying to figure out which ad campaign worked and which didn’t…

I then hear Jerry DellaFamina talk about products and businesses!
He is the biggest advertising guru in the USA. So I know that he knows his advertising!

And you know what he says…..?

CREATE A BUZZ!

That’s it! He says don’t worry about advertising, create a buzz and then you’ll know where you need to concentrate your efforts in bringing the product to the people.

So my answer as to reasons to have a marketing campaign? It’s to find out were to place the "buzz"

Relationship Marketing is a retention activity (where you’ve already got a client and want to keep them satisfied) as opposed to an acquistion activity (where you are looking for clients in order to grow your business). RM is a buzzword today because it costs less to keep a client satisifed rather than spending money to find one. Basically it’s a fancy term used for the wining & dining you do to raise satisfaction and loyalty scores among your clients.

Your key groups would be your retailers, suppliers, distributors, investors and finally your end consumer.

An example is business process outsourcing which is one of IBM’s core businesses. They work with external clients such as banks to help them develop procedures and processes that would help them service their customers better – like having a touch screen that answers requests rather than waiting in line at a bank. Helps the bank save both time & money. IBM also spends a lot of money ensuring that these clients are content and keep coming back to them for ideas.

What is the difference between Traditional
Marketing and Modern Marketing? Give some examples of those
companies which are doing Business in India more than 50
years and how they changed from traditional marketing to
modern marketing.

Marketing as I understand is: creating awareness and demand for a product or services and using the supply chain management system, ensuring that it reaches the end user effectively. The Traditional marketing has a manufacturer, whole lot of middleman including traditional advertising and customers. Modern marketing has a manufacturer and customers without wwhich no business will function. But the middleman, advertisements and monitoring of demand and supply has undergone lots of changes. Big malls are directly supplying goods from manufacturers to consumers doing away with middlemen. MLMs and Direct Marketing have totally eliminated the middlemen and passing 60% of middlemen revenue to consumers who put some effort by way of word of mouth publicity. Modern communication tools are doing their bit of advertising and monitoring. End consumers get convenience.

How do I use my website as a marketing tool?

A website could either work under price, promotion, place and product. Through your website you are able to advertise you product, as you advertise your product you tell them the price or discounts or anything related to the cost of your product. At the same time, your website becomes your place for trading. This is a very fundamental analyses as to how marketing mix functions in your operation of a website. The first person above said it well, your website is associated to all the 4 Ps. (marketing mix)

Now, if you want to use your website to promote your product then the best answer is to use other media in order to advertise. In a state of information overcrowding in the internet, people can hardly find your website, hence, they’ll not be able to know more your product. This therefore calls for other media (TV, newspaper, radio etc.) Make sure you include your website to your ads so people can visit your webpage and learn more about your product from there. It’s better if you consult computer technicians/ web programmers/ e-commerce advisers for help. You may not want to pay more but I’m sure paying more for expert’s advices and help will definitely be fruitful.

Cheers and good luck.
